Originally the site of the city’s public swimming pool and adjacent to the Tugboat Island Playground, this 4,500 s.f. splash park is the largest public owned water park between Houston and New Orleans. It features 34 different water features which are activated on a timer rotation. The treasure island theme is reinforced by hand painted marine animals represented on the valve covers. The parks signature feature is the tidal barrel which releases 30 gallons of water into a mushroom waterfall 30′ in diameter. The sail shade cover offers patrons relief from the Southeast Texas sun.
Construction Cost: $750,000.
