The new 5000 sq.ft. City Hall echoes the 1930’s era retail storefronts found on Nederland’s historic Boston Avenue. Located one-half block off Boston Avenue, the City Hall represents the rich history of this city which was founded in 1897. The cast stone accents tell the store of Nederland’s history. The interiors of the building are richly detailed in stained wood moldings and period light fixtures. It is sited on a corner lot and will have a pocket park located adjacent to the building. The planted box located along the buildings front elevation also acts as a barrier to vehicular intrusion at the building entrance. City Hall is also located along an access alley which serves as a vehicular drive-up for the city’s utility department.
Construction Cost: $1,265,000.
