With the unfortunate reality of school shootings in the past years, BISD acted to help protect their students and staff. Security Vestibules with bullet resistant glazing windows and doors have been installed in all sixteen elementary schools in Beaumont as well as the Administration Building. Each vestibule creates a secured buffer before someone is allowed inside the main part of the building. Cameras and automatic door controls allow staff to prevent any suspicious people from entering. The new glazing system has a ballistic rating of level III.
